Fished the Barbee Chain July 7th for most of the day, and I must say it was the most disappointing 2 fish day I have ever had.

We fished Little Barbee for most of the day. Water temps were in the high 70's and clarity was down due to the rain and weed kill. You can still see down several feet in Little Barbee and clarity was great on most of the other lakes as well.

Fish were moving on all types of lures. Bulldawgs, Crane twitch baits, Grey Ghost glide baits as well as the old stand by Jackpot.

Boated 2 fish, both shorties, 31 and 34, but had action from 14 others and lost 3. Lost one fish, over 40 on a brown and white belly crane and another one over 40 on a Jackpot. Fish were acting a little goofy as they were coming from underneath the lures and not really following behind the baits. They were also just barely hitting the lures as 2 of the 3 fish we lost were hook with a single hook right in the front of their mouth. Right on the beak, so with one head shake they were off! #*^@ IT!

Green weeds can still be found off of main lake points and most inside turns.

Keeping the boat in 15-17 feet and casting to the weed edges and the break was most productive.

Good luck out there, I will be in Minnesota for the next few weeks so I won't be out on Indiana waters till almost August.
