Location: Seymour, WI | Earlier this spring I started a post looking for a good new drop belly glider to purchase. I got a message from MuskieE, Eric Larson. He makes his own injection molded drop belly gliders called the Rubber Hairy Glider. This is an awesome bait. Short snaps of the rod make this bait dart and jump around like you wouldn't believe. The lure darts left, right, up and down. It has tons of flash and roll. The other great thing about this bait is if you pause your retrieve it will just hang there for a second and then start a very slow drop like a dying fish. The hits that I've had on this bait have been the kind of strikes where the fish come flying out and absolutely smash the bait producing solid hookups. I think this bait is going to get even more effective as the fall jerk bait season rolls around.
I know Eric sold a bunch of these baits at the New London muskie show this spring and he'll make you a couple if you call him at 920-858-1659. Please post comments here from other people who have had experience with this cool new lure.
