Fished Sabaskong 6/26-7/3. Water temps were in the high 50s when we got there and in the mid-high 60s when we left. We found all our fish in bays with sand beaches and cabbage in front of them. A good drop off nearby helped too. Some folks were fishing the real thick stuff (junk weeds) with some success. Sight fished a 41" out of 2' of water in just such a bay, but most action came from weedy, sandy bays. Did find a couple on islands just outside of bays and a couple on the rocks. Bucktails in black/silver or gold and black/chart worked best. Had one blowup on a TopRaider and a 40" follow as well. Topwater bite should be turning on if the weather keeps warming up. LOTW is a little behind this year with the cold spring they've been having. Also, don't overlook small (or large) reedy points with cabbage and rocks, these spots produced a lot of action but I wouldn't be surprised if you found a couple big girls laying on them... Try fishing the Round, Blueberry and Little Blueberry, and Hay Island areas. Also, Stony or Stevens might be worth your time as well. If you have a bigger boat head over to the Sunset Chain Channel area just west of Rabbit Point all the way to the Basil Channel and Painted Rock Channel regions as well. There is prime water and some big fish there and not too many boats. Hope you get this in time!

Got your report. Thanks!

By the time we got to LOTW on Wed. 7/7 they had a couple of bad days of weather and it seems the fish went into hiding. We never had more than two days of consistent weather in a row. Even the eyes were running funny. None in the shallows and none on the reefs. It took us three days to find them. Believe it or not we caught our limit plus, jigging in about of 8 feet, just outside the weeds.

But on to the SKIES. Two raised and one landed about 25" northwest side of Poplar. One caught and two raised Between the Great Marsh Channel and Painted Rock. Our last day was looking good, raised 12 but only boated a 35" in Matheson Bay. That is one weedy bay full of them

For a group of 4 guys that just started fishing for Musky we feel pretty good about all of the follows. We think we did something right, now all we need to do is figure out how to get them to hit!

By the Sabaskong Bay Camp was great as usuall. They have a 7 month Pup that weighs about 70 lbs. and loves boating.
