Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | It is with a broken heart that I must announce the death of my wife MaryAnne Linda Villnow. She passed away June 23, 2004 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. After a long battle with Brain Cancer her pain is gone. Mary and I had exactly 14 years and 360 days together. Monday, June 28 is the Anniversary of our first date.
Mary had never fished when I met her. That soon changed. Yesterday I found a photo of her holding her first fish. a sunny so small it almost couldn't pull the bobber down. Her largest fish, you ask? A 49 inch Muskie caught in 1999. She learned fast. She didn't fish much the last 2 years due to her cancer fight. Her last trip was to Sabaskong Bay on our annual outing. She had a ball, but was so weak that she only fished for 2 hours during the whole trip. She didn't get a fish but managed to have one blow up on her surface bait. A great way to end a fishing career.
Mary loved the outdoors. Camping and fishing soon became her passion. All of Gods creatures made her smile. Chipmunks to crows, raccoons to deer, dogs to hamsters, sunnies to muskies, all were sacred to her.
She and I joined Muskies Inc. in 1995 with a family membership in the Twin Cities Chapter. Upon learning of another chapter in our area, Mary she joined the North Metro Chapter and told me to stay with Twin Cities. Why? She believed in conservation and the purpose and goals of M.I. and said that we must support both chapters. No interchapter rivalry in our house!
Mary was also the winner of the 1999 Womens division Members only contest for the N. Metro chapter of Muskies Inc. I was so proud of her.
Mary and I would like to Thank all of our friends, both known and online, for there love, support and prayers during the last 18 month battle with cancer. Your friendship means the world to both of us and has made a sad and difficult time a little more bearable.

| Sorry to hear FP; nothing I can say to ease the pain, but know that you are in me prayers and thoughts. One thing I especially remember, is that you included MaryAnnne in most all your posts and photos, and that says it all. Please let us know if we can be of any help... |

| Fishpoop,
My sincerest heart felt sympathy goes out to you. She is in a better place, less stressful, and much more beautiful than this world. I am deeply saddened at your loss. It makes me want to teach my wife, get her involved, in the great sport of muskie fishing.

A side note on Mary. When I met her she was well into her cancer treatment and I have never seen someone so positive and up beat! She fought hard until the end and never lost her humor. I could only hope to carry myself so well if I was in that possition. The musky world (and world in general) has suffered a great loss.
Paul I wish you the best and if you need to get out on the lake and get away give me a call 612-201-0209. I'll be @ the PMTT this weekend, but should be around after that.

| FP,
I am very sorry for your loss. Your wife sounds like a beautiful person. With her new passion for Muskie fishing, I know that Kyle and your wife have surpassed the 49" in Heaven's Tourney together. I will pray for you and your family, as the many prayers from others have helped our family tremendously with Kyle's passing. Kyle and your wife are not gone, in fact they are closer to us than ever, all around. Remain open to her sending signs to you, she will. God Bless Nicole Stefanski |

My deepest condolences on your loss. May you remember the best of times and always think fondly of her; rejoice in the time you had. Words cannot ease the pain you are feeling, but rest assured that there are people out there who care - don't hesitate to reach out to them. I do not know you nor her, but I mourn for your loss nonetheless. God bless.

Location: Madtown, WI | My heart dropped to the floor when I read this. I am so sorry for your loss. I have recently met my best friend and great fishing partner, she is also going to be my wife. We are celebrating our one year anniversary where we met, Eagle Lake Canada. The thought of sharing almost 15 years with her and lossing her is too much to bear. I know I would cherish and remember each trip and how much fun we had laughing at stupid stuff while we were on the water. Your memories of your wife and your times together are priceless...she will live with you forever.
Again, sorry for your loss and my prayers go out to you and your family.

| Paul,
Sorry to here of your loss. I talked to you at the White Bear Lake stocking last november, and you told me about her situation. I also met you and Mary at the Red Wing Lodge Outing a few years ago. She was a wonderful person. I can't imagine the pain and emptiness you must feel, but rest assured that her pain has been lifted, and know that she is in a better place now. I have been lucky enough to find a girl who tolerates my fishing, and even goes with me once in awhile. She has yet to catch a big musky, but has 3 small fish under her belt. I treasure the time we spend together on the water, and it sounded like you and Mary did, too. Memories of those times together will never fade. She will always be your fishing partner, watching down from above, she'll always be with you. Thoughts and prayers.

Once again I am saddened to hear of a great loss to the friends of MuskieFirst and especially to you. I don't pretend to know any of you but by reading your posts these last couple of years I've come to celebrate your great days on the water and smile when I hear of the excitement that you have enjoyed on various outings. What a blessing to share them with your spouse. Know that you are in my warmest thoughts during these sad days ahead. Hold tightly to the friends that remain. I know they long to help.
Sincerely,
Steve Johnson (StephenDawg) |

Our families sympathies are with you. Most of us cannot relate to the sorrow you must be feeling. Time does heal all though. Remember that she will always live on through your memories and she will be with you wherever you are. Be comforted that her pain is now ended.
