Richard:

Norton may not detect that virus as Symantec hasn''t written definition files for it yet.
Here''s a link to the details from their site about the virus....

SLAMMMMMMMRRRRRRR...I told you not to go infecting anyone! You were supposed to wait until the sores went away.

Richard,

You can follow slamr's link to the Symantec web-site and follow their instructions to remove it from your system. If you're using Norton, they've now got the updates on their web-site and you'll need to download those, too. One little pointer, though. When you go into the registry, you can delete the entry that they tell you to delete, but it will come right back if you don't first go into the task manager and stop one of the tasks that's running. I don't remember exactly what it's called, but I believe it starts with "load" and is closely related to the name of the virus. After that, just follow their instructions. I'm scanning someone's laptop at work now, so we'll see what happens. Half way through the scan and it's found 18 files infected.

Here we go some 3 hours later and finaly virus free. Ty Slamr and myself for been dumb enough to open it.

As soon as I posted last time I went and closed my applications to run my antivirus but to my surprise as soon as I closed my internet connection Norton died. [:((] Thats when I started to really worry well more like panic.

I then went into safe mode and proceeded to try and reinstall NAV a few times and was unsucessfull. I had to go the the norton site and follow their intructions. You were correct as this file was deleted many times before I was succesfull in reinstaling my NAV then when I ran it I had 3 infected files.[:(]

They are all gone now.[:)]

Anyone need help to get rid of this thing please e-mail me.

I sure hope I closed my connection fast enough to stop this damn thing to go and infect others. if i did I am truely sorry.[:((]

I opened it too, as I ALWAYS trust content from Slamr. I have it scrubbed off the system already, but I would love to have the people that designed the thing go T Zone hunting with me...White hat, brown jacket, and have them RUN through the thick woods on public land...[:knockout:]
