I would like to get couple videos to help train my novice boat partners and hone my own skills. Does anybody know of some good ones-big fish/good instruction. Thanks for your help.

In the mood for some good muskie porn? Badfish Outdoors' "Muskie Madness" video is just a hoot. Big names, big fish, big laughs, see how it is done, and maybe even how not to do it. Simply Fishing has a number of instructional videos by Bob (don't make me spell his last name!), and In-Fisherman has a video whole series. None are as entertaining as the Badfish video, IMHO. I think you can order thru www.muskynut.com. m

Pete Maina's Musky Techniques Vol 1 is excellent for beginners. It covers the "core" musky lures a beginner will encounter. Probably the best "educational" video on musky lures and how to work them that is out. It doesn't go into more advanced topics (reading the lake, musky habitat, etc.) but is a great starting point. The only thing that should really be in there that isn't is how to properly net a fish. If you have a nice fish on, a quick way to ruin the day is for a novice to "screw the pooch".

Lot's of other vid's out there with better entertainment value.

Lot of good videos out there. I like Pete Maina's, and Steve Heiting and Jim Saric's. The IN-Fish are great, too.

Of course I'm biased for the Badfish vid, so I'll leave that one out. Maina's first one for info, Maina's new one for entertainment. Saric and Heiting put out some great stuff as well, but my favorites are the Lindners. Muskie Doctors, Muskie Mechanics, and The Great Muskie Hunt I & II are must-haves. For a great look at the history of muskie fishing, 'The Old Masters Of Musky Fishing' is a fun view. I find the stories told by the old timers fascinating.

Most of these can be found at muskyshop.com, Gander Mountain also carries quite a few as well.
