| We did a muskie rescue below the spillway at Shabbona last night. We returned 24 muskies ranging from low thirties to low fourties. A few other large fish were also put back. 22" bucketmouth, a few large walleyes.
One muskie had a chunk missing where some goofballs had snagged her on purpose and ended up tearing a large piece out of her back.
It was a good night and there was only one injury - sliced finger when returning a fish to the main lake.

| We had about 25-30 people helping out so it went pretty smoothly. There is a retention net infront of the dam but it gets holes in it periodically from careless fisherman and it's not 100% even when in good shape. Last fall there were 72 fish returned to the main basin. As best as we could tell all fish were in good shape when released. |
