Location: Holly, MI | My 4 yr old, after a prompting whisper from momma, came up to me this morning before church and gave me a hug and said "happy mothers day". It felt and ment the same as if he had gotten it right. My fathers day came early. I got a pass to go fishing on thursday and managed to land a 48 incher that was a beauty. Not a stray mark or split fin on her, a rare beauty. My fishing partner lost one that felt big and stayed deep to a straightened out hook. We lost 3 fish that were hooked but still managed to release SEVEN!! Most were 30-34 inches but all were fun. It was by far my most productive day on the water ever. Weather was dark and threatning, barometer was low, new moon was setting with the sunset, a nice light wind had a decent chop on the water. Textbook "hot" time to be on the water and it worked for us.

Location: Athens, Ohio | Well, I got the opportunity to go fishing! Went to Piedmont Lake, since most everything else in the tri-state area is closed due to flooding (I guess Leesville is at it's highest recorded level?). Fished for a few hours and ran into Raze and his partner, they took me to a cove where they moved a nice fish. Of course, about then it was time for the 2.5 hr. drive home, where I had a wonderful dinner with the boyz and received my gifts of a box of split rings and a couple titanium leaders.
All this activity really helps, it has been nearly nine years that my own father took his life; the pain remains but the joy of my own children - now so grown - helps the balance of emotions. I said a prayer for Kly's dad, wishing him strength in what may be a difficult day to celebrate for the coming years; it appears he has many reasons for pride and joy. m |

| First thing in the morning, I got a kiss and a card from daughter Lauren, who was on her way to Great America with her friend's family. Then, I got a new back entry door for the house! Got it all installed yesterday, and then off to the Dad-in-Laws for a cookout. |
