I was out yesterday with my buddy Bill Ramsey from Chicago and we had one hell of a day. Both good and bad!

We started the day off fishing Yellowbanks. Bill had one fish going within a few mintues and had a 40 jump over this crappie Burt about 10 mintues later. We moved over to the shallow flat on as you are entering Echo bay. Bill popped a 32-33 on the crappie Burt and had other fish follow. Then it was finally my turn. I nail a fattie 40 in 6 feet of water just off the small islands. We moved back and forth from YEllowbanks and the flats all day, we ended up putting 4 in the boat with the 40 being the biggest. My 3 fish came on the Crappie Grey Ghost Hounder and Bill's was on the Burt. The good part was we boated 4 fish, the bad part was my Frabill Big Kahuna is now at the bottom of Webster!!!!! It fell in and sank like a rock as I was trying to release a 37.5

All of our fish came from 8 feet and less.

Water temps: Mid to upper 70's
Visibility: 2 feet (due to all the rain)
Weeds can still be found, mostly off of points and drop off where the dnr didn't hit it.

The weed kill has NOT affected the fishing what so ever.

I will be heading north this weekend, so I will miss my favorite honey holes!!! I will be back quite a few times through out the summer to do some indiana fishing as well as get my classroom ready.
