Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I have been hitting the Barbee Chain pretty hard lately. Fish are moving great, and big fish as well.
Water temps in the mid 70's, last few days the water levels and clarity have changed alot due to the large amounts of rain.
Most fish are still related to either the deeper weed edge, 12-13 feet of water, or are around the large schools of bait in 25+ feet.
Most fish have hit the Grey Ghost Crappie Hounder, Wabull, with many on the Jackpot and PaceMaker as well.
Irish has been the hot lake as of late. I caught and released my biggest Barbee Chain fish, and one of the biggest ever caught from the chain the other day. Saturday I caught a 46 on a perch Wabull in 14 feet of water at the mouth of Irish. I will post pictures as soon as I can get to a scanner. Over the past few days the Lund has had: 46, 41, 39, 38, 37.5, 34, 36, 31, as well as a few others.
Indiana fishing is pretty hot, and it seems the weed kill has not affected the fishing!!!

Location: Chicago, Beverly | UPDATE, avoid the chain like the plague boys.... DOCKS are a floating right now.. Had to call someone to tie mine down withn all the rain the last couple days.. Where I am at the water comes up the least... My Seawall is just about the only one on my channel not under water. Chances are extremely high the lake will get closed for a few days. |

| Irish record is 52" 32lbs caught in 1998. Fin Clipping has that fish as originally being stocked in Webster(forget what year).I think it was caught during the old A&A Marina tourney(I think their wed. night tourney). The guy kept the fish thinking it was the state record and headed into town to get it weighed... Was caught on a spinnerbait. Mike's fish though may very well be the Largest Musky actually stock in the Barbee Chain to be caught. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Two Novembers ago I caught a 42 and Vince caught a 43 on the same spot on Irish. I sent a pic to Jed Pearson. He said based on the length and fin clip it was the first year fish stocked in the chain with an impressive growth rate. In a season and a half that year class could have easily put on 3" to be the 46" that Hulbert caught. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this season there are a few approaching 48.
