During a kid's fishing derby, hosted yesterday by Compass Pointe Marina in Fairhaven, MI, an 11 year old girl caught and released a 48", 22lb. 1 oz Lake St. Clair Muskie. It is believed to be some kind of IGFA record. The kids derby was sponsored by Gander Mountain and Triton Boats. It was a grand day had by all. Nice job Compass Pointe! It was a fabulous day for the kids.

Isn't 22# pretty light for a 48" muskie?

Rockin' SV,
I agree with you, a 48" muskie that weighs 22 lbs only has a 19 inch girth. That's pretty small. I caught a 48" X 19" in Canada this past year and she was your classic skinny summer fish. If it's some kind of line class WR, then for what class would it be in? I'd be curious to hear about more details.
