Best Boat

Biggest water I fish is 1000 acres, I do go to the woods, but limited, and in July. I would like to start guiding, but never more than two clients. I am just wondering what the best boat for me would be. Right now I am fishing from a 14' alluminum piece of crap. I was thinking of an esox magnum tiller, but I don't know. Limited budget by the way. Any suggestions would be great.
Thank you,
MuskyDan

I would like the 18' alaskan but it's a good 12" too narrow. I am not sure what your budget is. If you are talking an esox magnum tiller equipt you are talking around 17k for a new one decked out. That would make a good boat. So would a lund angler, crestliner fishhawk and alumacraft navigator. Not sure how much the euroline musky boats are but they have to be in that ball park. Pricecraft also makes boats similar to the lund alaskan style.

Sam down at beford sales in morris, il. has an old ranger 620 tiller with a 50 merc on it. If he still has it it's been there awhile but it has to be cheap.

Heckles in Eagle River has a brand new Esox Magnum with a Mercury tiller and Tuff Trail trailer for $12,800.00 brand new. I think this is a really good price. The boat was black with a dark red insert on the side, gray carpet and seats. Hope this helps. 1-800-heckles

If you are really interested in that Esox at Heckel's, work with them on the price. It has been there for a good portion of the summer. I was eyeballing it in August and I think it was there in June or July too.

I use to have a Lund 1660 Pro V and now run an Esox Magnum. For boat control on the waters you fish, you can't beat a Magnum. Another advantage of the Magnum is that its styling is more conducive for launching on lakes that have poor landings. (Some lakes that have poor landings hold lots of Muskies and the fishermen with larger boats are not able to access them [;)] )

An Esox Mag or even a regular Esox would be a great choice. I fish from a Esox with a 50 tiller and have no problum with the water that I fish.

Tuffy Esox Magnum, with a rear casting deck is a great choice. I regularily have 2 other people and tackle boxes in the boat with me. There has never been a problem with that load, and on water sizes that you are speaking about with heavy seas. I have had mine out in 4' waves. You have got to pay attention to waves of that size or larger no matter what kind of boat that you have. I have had mine since 1992, and the narrower Tuffy Esox before that for 6 years.
