How did the muskies treat you this weekend? I worked Saturday all day, and most of Sunday. Sue and I got out for an hour and a half locally. She lost a good fish on a Muskiy Buster topwater. The fish charged her thrashing around on the surface, and pitched the bait despite several good hooksets. Sue raised another fish, and I saw zip.

Opener for Lake St Clair Michigan was Saturday. Tough, tough. Two small skis in the boat for us, a 30 and a 37. Lots of boats out and very few fish caught. One guy fishing for walleye landed and released a 52 incher he caught on a crawler harness. We took two nice walleye home for dinner too including one that went over 6 lbs at 27 inches.

Got out 6 hours on Sat. Got a few shorter fish 30/31ish type stuff... They dropped the water levels 3-feet in the last week and it really screwed things up... Gonna give it a go again tonite and see if the bigger fish have moved back up.

AWESOME OPENER IN MN for me.

Started Saturday about 7:00 or so in the morning. Weather was beautiful....overcast, somewhat dark, drizzle here and there and a front approaching. By 7:30, my partner boated a 42 incher twiching a Salmo fatso. Using his lure color scheme/style as a pattern, we started twitching 6 inch grandmas/jakes on the flats where we spotted a bunch of fish the day previous when we were fishing smallies. Around 9:00 I poked a 39-1/2 incher, around 9:30, a 41, and by 10:30, a 40. Had a hot follow from a 43 that just did not take, but tried to suck it in...just no hooks. That evening partner boated a 32-1/2 male. So...a five fish day with the first four coming in the first four hours on the water this year. To date, this is the best opener I have ever had!! Too bad Sunday was a bust with high skies, no wind and hot.

He also managed to poke a 37-1/2 incher Friday evening when we were fishing largemouth on texas rigs.

We had an awesome weekend numbers wise. We boated 7 on Thursday, 3 on Friday (had to take the sandy ones smallie fishing, not much musky time), and 6 on Saturday. Most were low low 30's fish, but a few were mid to upper 30's. I managed to loose ever single freaking rod bending, head shaking, sucker eating fish that I had. DOOOOHHHHH!!!!!!

What can you do. It was great to get out.

How'd ya do Sunday Kly????

Fished a small dark Oneida County Lake on Saturday, only moved one small fish then the rain came and really shut everything down.

Well I didn't get out Musky fishing but I had a GREAT time on Lake Michigan battling a nice King Salmon. I LOVE Muskies but when it's comes to a fight, they are NOTHING compared to the King Salmon. This fish tore line off the reel like I was hooked to a car, when I got it in my forearm was BURNING.

AWESOME FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This report is going to be a little off my normal reports as I am crazy busy today!!!
Water temps: Mornings were around 68 with some of waters reaching 76-77 by late afternoon. Water clearity in all the lakes was great.
Fish are relating to the deeper bait fish.

Fished Webster Thursday from about 10:00 am till dark. Saw quite a few fish, and missed on a a blue and white suick. Fished 75% of the time over 20+ feet of water Jackpot and the Weagle also raised a few fish for me as well over the open water. Didn't boat any, saw 17 fish, with one being over 45 inches. DEEP WATER!

Friday I moved over to Tippy and James. Moved a lot of fish on James again over open water, 30 feet. Lost one around 38 on a Wabull off the deep water edge of the sunken island in the middle of the lake.
Raised several fish on the east end most on Magic Maker and the Grey Ghost Hound. Ended up boating a 33 on the east end on the Hound, crappie color. Water temps were high, around 76. Moved to Tippy, and along the north shore just past the clubhouse I scored a 37 incher again off the Hound and again in 37 feet of water.

Saturday I moved a ton of fish again on Tippy but no takers. Jackpot and the Weagle moved several nice fish for me first thing in the morning off shallow weed flats. Grey Ghost Hound in Crappie again showed me 8 fish from Tippy. Left there around 4:00 and headed to the Barbee Chain. First fished Little Tippy and saw 8 fish again in Little Barbee ranging from 37-45 inches. Had nice 45 up 5 or 6 times, finally got her to commit on the crappie Hound, but totally missed the bait! O well!! Fish seemed to be right on the weed edge as well as around the suspended bait fish.

Sunday fished the chain again, and again moved fish on Little Barbee right off the bat but no takers. Again the jackpot, and the Hound were showing fish. Again off the weed edge and suspended bait fish.
Moved to the other lakes and again saw a ton of fish. A lot of quality fish were coming to the boat with several fish in the 40-42 range. Got one to go in Sawmill, 39 incher. On the Hound what else!
Got off the water around 5:00.

Over all: Fish are scattered with a large portion of them being on the edges and around the suspened bait fish. Lures don't seem to make a large difference as fish were caught on 10 inch jakes, glide baits, spinner baits, bulldawgs, ect.....
Scored 4 fish: 33, 37, 39 on a Grey Ghost Hound in Crappie and one fish 29 on a 10 inch Purple Jake.

Good luck out there!

4 fish in the boat, and one lost. 36, 40.5, 40, and 39". Two on cranks baits as well as the one lost, one on a Mepps Magnum, and the other one on a baby shallow raider. The hot color was the perch pattern painted by H20 tackle. Thanks Roger!!!

Fished shelbyville for about 5 hours. Took the dealer most of the day to get the trailer ready and all the paperwork in order. We got 1 bass trolling. It was a summer madhouse with cigarrette and houseboats all over even in the coves. No hiding from them. Not the place to be on a saturday between the holidays.

No hiding from the boats in the coves@Shelbyville? With all the tree filled coves there? Or just Lithia? Did great this weekend myself, check out the Weekend reports topic under the fishing reports section...

Well my weekend again involved smaller fish under 40 but we were able to boat four. Sat Vince boated a nice chunky 33.5 on Webster w/ the triple D right off the bat and I lost a 40ish ski twitchin a 7.5" perch grammie--on/off off the boat. We had about 15 follows for the day many very aggressive with multiple turns on fig 8's snapping at the baits. I finally boated a nice 35 trolling a polish shad just after dark in the bowl off the restaurant. Sunday was Tippy day where I was litterally overrun by jet skiers, skiers, pontoons, and pleasure boaters who did everthing to get in my way not to mention contant wave action/rollers. The fish though were hot with a nice follow on my first half ass cast w/ a 6 inch crane fattie tenn shad w/ a very erratc retrieve and pause while I was still setting up the boat--it swiped at boatside but missed. Next came a feisty 33 on a 12 inch sucker that I had to freehand to the boat after it wound me around the prop in front of the CC off the edge in about 20' I saw about 12 total on Tippy, all very aggressive. James though was the winner as I popped a beautiful 36 there just after dark again on the polish shad. I hit James late and only trolled there. The surface weeds were untrollable on Tippy and still abundant on James so hard work all day all things considered. I was most pleased though by the guy on the waverunner who gave me a nice spray at midday to cool me off.......

Well nothing for me:( I guess I was out last week raised a few fish on a boo-tail. But seems like the skis won't hit on anything except live bait. I htink they are just conditioned that much maybe on this lake. I will try that this week, Hopefully I will stick one maybe throw out some lures in the pattern of a bass or crappie..etc. I did help a guy out though on the dock came in for a break. You know me fishin for muskies I have all the gear to make a good release he didn't have a net so i asked him if he needed a net and sure enough i netted it for him and he got the hooks out and I let him measure it quick with the sticker ruler i have on my boat it was tied up to the dock.. I made sure he had it out of the water no more than 30 seconds and then he put it in the water wasn't to sure on how to revive it so i grabbed the tail and taught him how to do it.. geesh felt like I caught the fish minus reeling it in.:) I wasn't like intruding, he handled the fish and stuff (probaly a lil bit to much but what can you do I just told him try not to touch it as much as possible) So at least I might of saved a nice 40".

Fished three lakes chain on saturday, boated a 37 and a 44.5 in a few hours of fishing. Had a larger fish steal a northern I was reeling in. Fought it for about ten minutes before it let the pike go. Was 46 -48 inches in my estimation. My fish came on burts in shallow water.
