| I was able to get away from the painting for a few hours today. A CJ spinner bait in perch talked this fat 40" into hitting. I also got a 36" on a Tippy Darter in Big Scale Carp..My new favorite glide bait/color! Had several follows, two were mid 40s and FAT! I also saw Kevin out with "Muskyboy"..We were able to get away before Kevin took off his shirt!!

Location: Chicago, Beverly | What's with this shirt thing? Anyways....fantastic weekend.... I got a 40" fish that was a complete HAWG of a fish... FAT!! We had tons of action but only caught the one... Had several hit lures but get off for various reasons, had...I don't know... well over 15 follows with several almost pushing the lures... I had one on a Fig 8 just smash the lure but when I went to set the hook almost caught Steve instead of the fish... No idea where that one came from...just fig 8'd 2-3times and was pulling bait out of the water because: NO FISH WAS BEHIND LURE DURING RETRIEVE OR FIG 8...glad I commit to those things every single cast or I would have never seen that one. What was the "Magic Lure"? Well, heck, what wasn't? Topwaters were working, spinner/bucktails, shallow cranks, medium cranks, deep cranks, trolling....casting..... Ice Cream trucks..Just ask Steve.... and then there were those 3 baits we saw on shore.... what kinda baits were those again? We had action starting friday night, all day saturday, and just about all day sunday... Hopefully the pic turns out good... |
