Just wondering what your fav. jerk bait rod is. Manufacturer, length, power, action, etc. Do you have one for bigger jerks, and one for smaller?

Thanks,
MJB

That's easy. My 6'2" st. croix avid 1-5oz. It's wonderful. I do have to send it in however as one of the guide inserts came out. No problem. It has a lifetime warranty.[]

a 7' two-piece St-croix premier casting, 0.5 to 1.5oz. Fish about any jerkbait with it. Even heavy cobb's gliders

7'6" Pete Mania Rod for mid-weight stuff
7' St Croix MH for heavier stuff
6'9" Aurora Sworrall rod for Reef Hawgs, Undertakers and other smallish baits.

Ok I am in left field here, but I know alot of other folks like me that use these long rods for multi purpose, which includes jerks.

I use an 8' Lamiglas for everything and with great confidence. Best jerbait rod I ever used. All Star and Aroura also build great 8' rods that work soft twiching gliders to suicks with ease.

Jason, do you stand on 3 tackle boxes to avoid slapping the water? :)

I am with Jason when it comes to using one rod. I use a Fenwick 7' and have yet to find a bait it doesn't handle suitably. I have also been using a St. Croix 7' which is a little heavier action but it feels sluggish and heavy compared to the Fenwick. I am sure my Fenwick is even BETTER than J. Smiths lamiglass(or it's not). All these St. Croix
lovers-am I the only person on the board that feels like the rods are too heavy every time I pick up a ST Croix, and I don't just mean the musky rods, their blank always seems cumbersome to me spinning etc.
