I have a 14 foot Alumacraft with an 8 hp Honda four-stroke. What type of trolling motor would you recommend for this? Also, what type of fish finder? Finally, if you didn't have a trolling motor or a fish finder, which one would you get first?

I would recommend a 36# - 55# thrust trolling motor (I have a used 36# thrust MinnKota AP for sale, not sure if the AP works, took it off my 18' Tuffy). As far as brand of motor, it all depends on on what options you want, do you want a depth finder on the bow? I would recommend it highly. I know plenty of people who have MinnKota, and Motorguide, so either of those would be great. I would recommend the AP for MinnKota with Universal Transducer.

Fish finder's: Go look at the options you want/need. What do you want to see from your depth finder? I have a Garmin 100, and a Lowrance X-85, both are very good. Both companies put out alot of good products. Give us a price range that you are looking to spend, and you might get some specific product recommendations.

I would tell you to go Depth finder first, as I know people who just leave their 4 strokes running, and use it like a trolling motor.

Thanks for the help. I ended up getting the Eagle Fishmark 320.
