Subject: Gas Tank tie downs


I read about problems with the gas tanks tie down straps on Lund boats. Have any of you had problems with gas tanks tie downs on your Lund boats? Any Problems with leaking tanks? I haven't checked my tank yet but I do have a gas smell when I first take the cover off?

Location: Chicago, Beverly		If your tank is pretty full(do you have portables by the way or a built in?) the gas will have some slight seepage out of the cap. As far as I know this is normal.... I have portables on my boat and usually will get a faint gas smell from under the tarp when untarping it. Caps are tight, hose are good, etc.. still got a little smell.

I'm talikng about a built in tank. The discussion on the other board was about tie down straps that kept the built in tanks in place and more then a few guys said some or all of the straps we installed incorrectly or broken. I was wondering if anyof you guys had similiar problems.
