| The WMT completed its Southern Region swing with the May 22 and 23rd tournament held on lakes: Pewaukee, Okauchee and Lac LaBelle. The tournament would not only be a competition between anglers, but also between which lake would the eventual winners come from and which lake would produce the greatest amount of muskie registered. Pewaukee would come on top in the numbers with producing 7 of the 12 muskie caught, but it would be Lake Okauchee that would produce three muskie and a 45 1/4 incher that won the event, Lac LaBelle tallied 2 muskie.
The tournament paid down 10 places:
1st: Ken Bowen, Red Wing, MN. and Troy Graetz, Ellsworth
2nd: Alan Dirmeier and Rob Pritzlaff, both of Random Lake
3rd: Rick Hess, Burlington and Bill Vierkandt, Nashotah
4th: Clay Schmoeker, Kaukauna and Trevor Wells, Green Bay
5th: Steve Imhoff and Jeff Lind, both of Madison
6th: Bill Wyrwa and Dave Kurer, both of Watertown
7th: Scott Aschenbrenner, Wis. Rapids and Randal Baier, Grand Marsh
8th: Gordy Hastreiter, Woodruff and Mark Lijewski, Hazelhurst
9th: Beth and Mark McCumber of Janesville
10th: Dave Stewart, Slinger and Wayne Stewart, Milwaukee
