Crestliner 1850 Fishawk

Called a local dealer to try and get an idea of what these would cost. I was quoted just under 23K for Boat, Trailer, 115 4 stroke Honda, cover, motor guide 12V trolling motor, extra seat, two fishfinders (humminbird) and maybe a few other small niceties.

Seems awfully high. Thoughts anyone? (I was calling around Northern Illinois)

Dave, you have mail, I sent you the list of toys I got with mine, quite a bit more I think for the same price, but my dealer ordered mine at their Aug. dealer show.

Dave,

I have a 2002 1850 Fishhawk that I got in Aug. with a 150 HP on it 65 LBS AP and electronics I'm selling for $16,000- NO TAX!

Otherwise I can probably get you a good price on what your looking for.

Steve,

Thanks for the offer. I have seen your rig and that is what got me thinking about the 1850. The wife has put my new boat on hold until after I buy her a Harley (not going to happen soon). Thanks for the offer, if I can get her to agree that a new boat is more important than her getting the motorcycle I will send you an email.

I was up in the dells and seen an 1850. It's sweet. Pops has it on his short list of boats. Till then we fish out of my misty river.

One reason for the high price may be tha 115hp Honda. I have a similar boat (2000 CVX182 Crestrliner) to yours with the Honda 130hp & I think they are worth the extra $.You will need a 24Volt trolling moter I think with at least a 52 inch or so shaft. I think I got good value however becasue of where I live about the only other choice I had was a Fisher.I would do some shopping around if other dealers are in the area, like G-3, Tuffy, Ranger & Tritton makes some aluminum boats too. One last point is you may have to give up a little boat for the Honda but it may be woth it.

Steve,

No to cause an argument, but in "high tax on everything land"(WI), if I was to purchase your boat, I'd still have to pay sales tax. They check blue book, so no cheating allowed.

MN doesn't do this? Must be nice. hehehe

Shep, neither does IL, (read $1,400 savings on his boat)

I would strongly suggest giving Larson Motor Service in Little Falls a call. As was previously said by someone else, their prices are second to none, and I don't think their service can be beat. I just bought a 1650 Fish Hawk from them and no other quotes I got from anyone else were even close.

I too highly suggest you talk to a guy named Vilas at Larson Motor Service in Little Falls.

Not only did he beat all prices that I was quoted at the boat show from all other dealers that deal Crestliners last year on a 1650 Fish Hawk, it came with a Shorelander and not a Karavan that Crystal packages everything with !!!

Thanks for the info, but being a cheesehead I would need phone numbers and stuff to make contact with the dealer in Little Falls if you could forward it or a website that would be great.

Thanks in advance

Brad,

I don't know if driving to Little Falls would be worth it for you. But I would be surprised if Larson could not beat whatever price you have been quoted. They happen to be located right across the street from the Crestliner factory. I don't know if that makes a difference in why their prices are lower, but I'm sure it can't hurt. Like Musky Midget said, Vilas is a good person to go through, he seems like a real straight shooter. They have a boat ramp right out the door from their showroom. So they water test every boat they sell before you take it home. Might not seem like a big thing. But it's nice to be able to go for a ride out in your boat before you take it home, make sure everything is working just the way you want it. Here's their phone number if interested. 1-866-632-6619

Brad,

Give Vilas a chance...He was very straight up with me when I purchased my boat and told me he couldn't beat the deal I had but when I needed service to call them.

Give it a shot.

Re: Taxes in MN. No sales tax on the hull, but you do need to pay the tax on the trailer (must make sense to someone...somewhere...) Usually done when you take it to the DMV to register the trailer. If buying used you need the seller to write out the trailer price on the sales slip. Just lowball it to save yourself some $$...

Cheers,
RK
