We need some feedback from the folks out in the field. We are considering re-entering the trailer market with a quality drive-on -float off, adjustable bunks and adjustable axled trailer. We would build a good, sturdy, basic trailer and go consumer direct. Looking for comments and need for this type of product in the market place.

Welcome to MuskieFirst. Both my boats came with trailers, not sure where your market would be other than to work with boat builders to get under their new products. good luck, m

If you are planning on building a solid trailer then look into what RangerTrail has done with the Road Armour, Cool Hubs and Torsion Axle Trailer. These added features improve the safety, value and longevity of the trailer and the most important part, the boat.

I would like to see some type of synthetic material to slip over the bunk to help protect the boat and the bunk itself. There are older trailers with this type of material but I have not seen it on the newer trailers?

I had several K-Dee trailers and was very satisfied with them. The K-Dee would come with Liqua Lube hubs standard, right Dee Ann? This is a great hub lubrication system using a biodegradable, water absorbing lube in an 'oil bath' system that allows for expansion and contraction of the internal atmosphere when a hub at 90 degrees hits water that is 50, as an example. Keeps the seals from allowing water in, and if any DID get in, the lube absorbs it and makes more lube.

Every Tuffy and Skeeter I owned had a K Dee trailer under it. It would be nice to see them back on the market.

I have a K-Dee trailer under my Tuffy right now. I love it for getting into my little Lake Xs with tough launches. The only problem, is that I can't find the little rubber things that cover the bearings. That makes for a messssy tire with the grease flying all over.

I have had a couple K-D model trailers. I would buy a new one next time I get a new boat.

I have had a KD under both my Tuffy Esox and Esox Magnum. My current one is 12 years old and still going fine. I would suggest a different way to attach the back platforms behind the wheelwells. if they were made of wood. The anchors with time are difficult to remove, making replacement of the side supports a tough job. The Liqui-Lube System has been awesome!

Is there anywhere that I can find manuals on the older trailers? I am not the original owner, but have one under my Tuffy that is also about 12 years old. Please let me know, [email protected]

I am on my second K-Dee trailer as well - an esox ltd and now an esox magnum. The Lidua-Lube hubs are absolutely fantastic, please do not offer anything else. I was a little intimidated when I first got the boat but would not want anything else now and maintaining the hubs is a breeze. I would change from the wood platforms ahead and behind the wheel wells to a checker-plate material similar to what Tuffy is using with their current trailers. The wood does not seen to last, even if treated, with wet carpet over the top. I will be re-doing mine either this year or next and will be using either a Upvc or composite deck material and then cover with carpet. The same would be nice for the carpeted bunks - I am sure it will increase the cost of a trailer but well worth it in the long run. The K-Dee trailers that were manufactured are very well built, heavy duty trailers and I would not hesitate to request one under any boat I would have.
