Hi Guys,
I am going to throw muskie baits this weekend, don't want to drive too dang far.

Sounds like I need to bein Wisconsin south of Hwy 10, so I was thinking either:
--put in Mississippi River in Prescott WI and go South instead of the usual north into St Croix Lake
--or drive 3+ hours to Pentenwell Flowage
--or skip it and just go walleye fishing

I'm not much of a walleye guy, would rather throw musky baits all day in a sewer.

Thanks in advance for any ideas,
papa joe

Papa....There's a Tourny out on the Pete this weekend. If you go get ready for some crowds

More likely I'm gonna stay within a short drive from MPLS.

I just need navigable water with muskies present. It's my Birthday weekend, so I'd come home happy even if I practiced casting all day with no action.

Thanks,
Papa

GMG,
are you fishing in the Petenwell tourney?
i'll be out there - "crowds" shouldn't be too bad as it's limited to 60 boats, and the Pete is a LOT of water. however, i think there's also a walleye event going on, but have heard that it is a small boat event as well.
