Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | It must be fishing season! The board slows down on the weekends during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. The natural assumption is that everyone is fishing. How did you do chasing Muskies this weekend?
I ran Sue's Patriot Rig to a small lake up here I fish for Pike, crappies, and Gills, and searched the shallows for big Crappies while watching for Muskies. There aren't tons of them in there, but what's there are very nice. No show on the Muskies, but beat up the crappies real well. Yummy!

| I got out with Kevin yesterday. We spent 12 hours fishing. We probably had around a dozen follows and caught 2 fish. I got one trolling and Kevin got this nice 36" casting. It was only his third cast of the day! I have been out twice in the last 3 days and had 4 fish in the boat.. Not a bad weekend!

One cruiser had a pretty good chunk out of her back, thinking because of where she was it was a prop... She is about 40"..About to head back out and give it another shot, hopefully I got somethng better to report in a couple hours...

Location: Holly, MI | wasn't even on a muskie lake but..
I was out pike fishing friday night with a buddy and we had a lost baby duckling following us along, peeping and swimming. We talked about it being muskie bait. Cute lil bugger, hate to see him go down but at the same time I would love to see it happen. Then when it was about 10 ft from the boat there was a big toilet flush, a swing and a miss. I tossed my triple white spinnerbait out behind us and the fish was happy to take that instead. It was only about a 24 inch pike but I was happy to give him a chance to eat. It only had one good eye, might of had somthing to do with the miss at the duckling.
I'm going to make a few casts on a river tomorrow that does hold Muskies

Location: oswego, il | Was slow for us. I had 2 hookups on topwater that I lost, one was a decent fish right at the boat. Had three other blowups. Pops caught a small fish trolling and we lost another. Pops also caught 2 nice bass. I look like a lobster.

| Friday afternoon Lone Stone and I hit the water 'bout noon.3rd cast w/ topwater and a 38 eats it.Release the fish and see a few more and miss one at boatside. Last pass around 5:30 and a 35 eats the topwater.Good day.Saturday am, TheDude and I are on the water @9.1st half hour a big fish rolls on the topwater but no hooks.Matt gets a 39 a bit later and my first cast following his release , I get a twin to his, also on the topwater. She corkscrews at the boat and is gone.Afternoon was slow with only a few lazy follows.Matt hooks up with a 45-46 which goes airborn and throws the bait at about 6:30.10 minutes later I get a 39 on top.Release the fish and HIS 1st cast a mid 30's eats the topwater, comes toward the boat headshaking and throws the bait.Time to go home.Today was a short 3 hrs with a fat 25 to show.High skies were tough.Tired and off the water by 6. | Hey Kevin, I figured out why you never caught a fish on Sunday. You need to have your lucky " redneck, trailertrash, country boy", in the boat! Gotta go brush my tooth Later,

Location: Watertown MN | Great weekend away, no rain till we got home, and then surrounded by tornado's. New boat is fast, have some tweeking to do. Many northerns and some smallies, kids had a blast, brought our neighbor boy for his first fishing experience, 5 year old daughter showed the boys up by getting her fish on a jig and minnow. 2 cast one fish, then she puts the pole down-- to easy.
Good fishing

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Saturday, I got out for the first time since the opener last weekend.
I had a 12 year old boy client that wanted to catch his frist legal muskie. He fished with multiple guides up north but always came up short.
Not this time, Justin got his first legal muskie, a 37 1/2-ncher. A hour later he had a 39 to 40-incher shake off 8ft from the boat. I had the net ready and waiting. I explained, sometimes fish win, he said "we will get her next time" Great kid, new muskie nut !!!
After the outing I grabbed my tournament partner and headded out to burn a few fish in a spot I was not going to fish. I stuck a 38-incher on the first pass, worked it again hard and came up empty so it was Miller Time.
Sunday we fished the WMT and had big enough fish up to win but they wouldn't eat.
Tournaments, sometimes ya love them and sometimes they hurt.
Bring on Shelbyville !!!

| Friday night, got home from work and looked at the boat. Man, I still got pine knats embedded in the paint on the bow from Sab Bay Outing last August! Then, I went into the house and started our painting. Got a coat of Primer on the Hallway. Saturday, was up early. Went to find some painting stuff in the garage, and looked at my boat again. Went to breakfast with the daughter, and then to the hardware store for some paint and stuff. Drove to the north side of Milwaukee to pick up some oak casing and baseboard, and a set of sashes for one on the windows. Got home, answerred the phone, and was told I left my special order sahses at the counter. Back in the truck, and an hour later, I was back home. Put a coat of smooth texture on the hallway to try to cover the last owner's F-up with brush on texture. Was that guy an idiot. No wonder his ex divorced him! At 4:30, we took Lauren to her play, "Showdown at Dry Gulch" at church. She did good, and we enjoyed it. Then out to supper, and home.
Sunday, woke to a glorious sunrise. What a great day to be out on the water! I went to the garage, and looked at the boat. Man, I can't wait to get after them ski's! Got the gardening tools from the corner, and started turning the beds. Then off to the garden center for Peet Moss, fertilizer, Landscape Stone, border, and some flowers. Spent the next 5 hours diggin, sweatin, turning, planting, and cleaning the ensuing mud off the patio and sidewalks. Around 2:00 PM, I noticed the storm building to the west. Man, I bet them ski's are gonna go nuts any minute! Wish I was out there. Waited for the ensuing downpour to end while sipping a Sprecher Amber Ale in my garage, looking at the Lund. I need to get my TrollMaster installed.
Painted the ceiling in the hallway Sunday night, and then it was off to bed, to rest up for the work week ahead. Maybe I'll get the boat out during the week? Nope, didn't happen. Weekend will be here, and I'll be on Green Bay, prefishing for eye tournies the next two weekends. Maybe I'll get after the ski's in June!
