Planning on hitting Oconomowoc on Saturday with Doc, I've never fished it this early in the season....any reports or suggestions for hitting this beautiful little lake?

oconomowoc,
when i have fished it, it has been really early in the season, around now. Don't stray far from the mouth of the river. Fish are still up by the dam and using the river. find some of the fresh weeds and the little back bay areas with the rocks tend to hold fish. Jigs and chubs.

Thanks Kly, we worked that spot really hard, saw one fish just cruising later in the day out there.
Report:
Steve Van Leishout (man you need a shorter board name!) did Oconomowoc Saturday from about 6:15AM til about 2:15PM. SVL popped 2 30-32"ers both on a black bucktail with an orange blad, and we moved about 4 more fish, no luck on suckers. We casted deep, shallow, and in between, but all our action came when the boat was right ON the break, sitting in about 12-14ft of water casting up on the shallow stuff. We did move a larger fish (MAYBE 38") and saw 2 cruisers about that size, all looking very post-spawn beat up. Water temps ranged from 60 in the channel/river to 54 on the main body.
Also, for you bass/walleye guys, we spotted about 40 bass and 20 walleye all told just laying on the shallow sides of the breaks down at the bottom. It was pretty cool to see a whole school of white-tailed carp (about 10-15) moving together on the bottom/

went out sunday the 16th, had 3 follows on the breakline just west of the yacht club. Nothing real big maybe mid to upper 30's, all on a perch colored manta. Seems a little slow yet.

I had 5 follows on Saturday morning 5/15. All fish came fishing the first break casting toward the shallow flats and bringing the lure back out. All fish followed a Tennessee Shad-colored Shallow Invader and ranged from 30-40". This was my first time on the lake and I will definitely be back. If we get a warming trend over the next couple of weeks these fish should start chomping.
