Location: Brooklyn Park | Heading up to the mecca the 3rd week in August with a bunch of walleye guys. We have a houseboat and are docking it in the deadbrook channel-cliff island area. Two of us are musky guys and would appreciate any information on this part of LOTW. I have fished other areas quite a few times but not this area. I have never had great success on "trout" waters before and NEED to change this. ANY info would be great regarding patterns, areas, and lure selection.
Thanks to all and lets get ready to rip lip!

Location: Warroad, Mn | Hi:
The Deadbroke channell is not trout water, and at times in the third week of August it will have a rather nasty algae bloom. However, there are fish available in the area. Both the Deadbroke and the Sunset Channell (the south side of Cliff) have fish.
Look for the same things you would look for in other dark water areas of the lake, the water color here is simular to Sabaskong or the Angle area.

| astron bay and sunset channel hold big muskies. you are also not far from french portage which is an outstanding area. you should be there at peak time. don't be afraid to toss some big cranks or even give some trolling a try. french narrows also holds some excellent pike and muskie action, just work the islands south of french concentrating on the saddles. i have taken fish as deep as 30 feet in that area. bull dawg-motor oil green and white work very well. also try grammas in the white color. blue rapalas cd 18's are good too. good luck with your mission,,crippler |

Location: Brooklyn Park | I really appreciate the information you have given me. This will really help us not go in blind and try and bang every inch of shoreline, which we know that is impossible. Any other things in the future would be greatly appreciated and if there is anything you need to or want to know about metro area lakes I would be happy to share.
Thanks again Doug and Crippler,

Location: Sioux Narrows | The Deadbrooke area does hold some fish, the structure is limited. The Sunset Channle area does hold a good bunch fish and has some great struture .There is also areas east of that, Shore Island and the Red Cliff that is good also. The water is standed in the area your fishing out of, the only place where there is trout water around here is Whitefishbay. All the fish will be on rock piles by late august but never ignore the weeds. Good luck
