Because of the June4th and 5th state track meet in Lacross my friends and I have decide to fish the Mississippi instead of Vilas Co. Does anyone know of cabin rentals on the water near Lacross? We're going fishing the 5th thru the 12th for whatevers there. Any chance we might run into any Muskie in the backwater or wherever?

Hey Pauley,
No chance at muskies in the LaCrosse area. SUX. the closest possible Muskie water is the Black River about 30 miles north of LaCrosse and not many in there. The Mississippi near LaCrosse is an awesome Walleye, Smallie, largemouth, Catfish, Northern, all panfish, just no muskies. .
As for cabins...... the only one I can think of is Cozy Corner Cottages, On lake Onalaska just north of LaCrosse. lots of good hotels on or near the water and all bait shops will give up the hot spots for fishing. (Gander/ Ace Sportsland) If you need more info feel free to E-me at [email protected]

About the closest good muskie water is the Black River by the town of Melrose according to Zach. About 35 minutes away.
