Just bought 99 with 50 4 stroke any opinions or experiences with this model. My first boat and hope it is decent in rough water.

How rough are you talking.

You have Mille Lacs rough, or you have a thousand acre lake rough.

Which one?

I was talking about smaller lakes on windy days more concerned about ride than survival have always used 14 foot rentals and 2 foot of chop kills the back.

Jim - I have a 16ft Crestliner and you'll be fine on smaller lakes even with the wind gusting. However, Mille Lacs would be another story. I watch the weather before going to MilleLacs and do not take my boat out when wind are 20mph Plus.... I live in the MSP Metro, and fish Tonka quite a bit. On the gustiest of days, I just slow it down...It will handle it, but I believe it is also the driver!
Oh, and you may get a little wet!
