HEY MN GUYS.... OR OTHERS WHO FISH MN OR EVEN THOSE WHO JUST CARE ABOUT MUSKIES IN GENERAL!!

THIS IS A HUGE UNDERTAKING AND CAN MAKE A BIG IMPACT ON THE FUTURE OF MUSKIES IN MINNESOTA and beyond!!!

PLEASE HELP OUT!!

How about a raffle or donation??

The below is copied from a post on the Muskies Inc. site by Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Muskies Inc. member Tim Schulke:

The Brainerd Lakes Chapter #24 is currently working with local DNR representatives to create a video that will enhance education and partnering efforts with local Lake Associations and the general public. The focus of the video will be on netting and surveying results on an area lake where walleye, panfish, etc. are thriving and Muskie have been introduced. DNR management tactics of the Muskie, walleye, and monitoring of the other species have maintained a successful balance. We believe this is vital information in order to promote expansion of the resource into new bodies of water.

The BLC has currently contracted with a local firm to film the survey (in progress) on the water. We will also provide personnel to the DNR and assist with the actual net pulling. Our intent is to create a “fully produced” video that all of the MI chapters, DNR, and other entities may benefit from that is truly a case study from a “stocked lake”.

This endeavor is not cheap, but is one the DNR believes will be a successful tool. Our chapter has committed to the filming and volunteers and are looking to other chapter’s to help with the producing, and reproduction. In return all chapters will receive a copy for their use.

If your chapter is interested, please contact Tim Schulke at [email protected] or (218)851-1301 or Jeff Young at [email protected] or (218)821-3669

We will be on the water filming with the DNR very soon. This project is under-way, but we
could use additional support (funds). If you are interested please contact us soon, we do
not want to lose our momentum on a project that can truly be an asset to help with the future
expansion of muskie waters. The DNR is 100% behind this project, as they feel it is a great
step towards partnering with other organizations (mainly lake associations) and providing
good information on successful management techniques in conjunction with the introduction
of a new species into a body of water. Thanks to all who have stepped up already!!

Great News!!! We just learned that Ted Takasaki will narrate our video. What better way to
endorse the potential expansion of muskie - than having a known walleye angler lead the
charge. We are excited and confident this endeavor will help the fishery.
