I don't know how many of you have seen it on the news, but my once peaceful hometown of Antigo is now a raging river. Spring came really quick and half the city is covered in water. It is a mess! I will likely never see anything like this in my life again. Anybody else flooded from the unbeleivably fast thaw?

Hey Norm,

Can you stand on your front porch and tune all of your musky baits now, or at least get that casting itch taken care of? Hopefully you are not able to run that new Crestliner and Suzuki in your front yard either. I called into the office part way in this morning to see if the spinners were still on the shelves or if they were spinning on their own.

Coming in on 45 from the north was fine. You could see where the water had been on/across the road on both 45 and the side roads. The snowmobile/cycle/boat place just to the north of Fleet Farm was all sand bagged up and appeared to be pretty well flooded. Country Kitchen had sand bags around the front door area, but the water had subsided there almost completely.

Norm, hopefully your property did not sustain any damage. I know from the television last night that many people were not so lucky; water almost to the tops of cars, YUCK!!

WHAT A MESS!!

Saw it on the news last night. Looks bad. Even showed a pic. of a jet ski on the street. Hope all goes well and that mother nature gives you a break. I know you said a few weeks ago that you couldn't wait to get your boat out, but I doubt you meant right in your own backyard.

Luckily I am about a half a mile away from all the water. I did sleep in my boat last night just in case . I told my wife it would be different if the first time my new boat was on the water was on the streets of Antigo. Lots of people and business are going to be in pretty rough shape, hopefully the worst is behind us

We had alot of water here too, but it seemed that the Pelican River was able to accept most of it. I had justr a tiny amount in the basement, took care of it with a wet vac. The sumps were running full bore, though. Hope all is well down there, Keith's wife's parents live east of town.

Glad to hear your still breathin'; had a flood here in '85. I wasn't living here then, but me brother's wife and 2 small kids daggone nigh drowned in a vehicle; water rose so fast it was unbelievable. The car fortunately became wedged and they were pulled out through a window. I think quite a few perished. Hope things improve...

We have a little bit of flooding around here, but not to the extent of you Norm. I hope everything shapes up ok for the local residents, and the water goes down quickly. As much as I would like the water levels up for this year, this was a bit extreme.

We went through it a few years ago, wouldn't wish that on anyone. It's amazing how the town will pull together to help each other get through it. Thankfully the west end of the state is having a fairly normal spring...

Hey Norm, pretty incredible thaw eh? One week ago I had a solid two foot drift across my yard now I see grass. I talked with a few people over that way and they seem to still be in disbelief at the flood. My thoughts are with all those that have been affected by this event. Are you slleping in the New Boat?? Spent the day in Antigo yesterday assessing street and sewer and water utility damage. From what I heard there was no major injuries, but many people are displaced from there homes and businesses. When I left yesterday afternoon the water was subsiding and they where just about to open USH 45. I’ll be going back today, I’ll try and give an update.

Never new sh@# crick could ever flow that much water, and to think a year ago my parents were laughing at the fact the insurance company stated they lived in a flood plain. It even hit our news here in the twin cities. The town looks a mess, hope everyone is OK.

Good luck
