Location: South Portsmouth, KY | Hey guys. i hooked into a brute toady. I caught a 53 inch 40 pound musky on a rattle trap from cave run. Crash said that in the same place yesterday a 53 incher was caught. I fought him for about 20 min. At one time he probley stripped off at least 100 yards of line.I had on 12 pound test and this is only my third muskie! She was released in good health Anyway here are some pics.

| AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!!
What a pig.
You didn't happen to check and see what the world record muskie for 12# is did you?
I'd say that you have some outstanding photographic evidence to back it up.
Are you gonna quit now?
Way to go man!
Beaver
PS...I just e-mailed the IFGA about your catch. I hope that you saved the line, the lure, the leader and have witnesses. It could be a line class record, or a junior world record. Check into man, you could be in the book.
Sorry......IGFA! not IFGA

Location: Alsip, Il | Congradulations, did you actually weigh her, she looks like she would go way over 40 lbs., and in state record class. With the big fish coming out of the Cave, I may have to switch my trophy hunting from Lake of The Woods to March down on the Cave. Once again congradulations on a once in a lifetime trophy, but you have alot of years to break it. God Bless, Al |

| Contact the IGFA tomorrow. There are records for released fish, line weight class and a junior division.
Check into it through them. I know you need the first 8 or 10 feet of line, the leader if you used one and more info that you can give them.
Good luck man.
The numbers in the link are for different pound test lines. There are lots of line weight class openings. Like 10# test for bluegill and 50# for walleye and stuff like that.
Congratulations and good luck on your pursuit of A WORLD RECORD!!!

Location: Kentucky | Way to go MuskieMan!!! The Cave is definitely giving up some big girl's this spring. I usually hear about afew being caught this time of year, but this year the Cave is pumping them out! That is a true beast and a fish of a lifetime for most. The best part about it is that you got her back in the water safe and sound. Way to go Man!Congratulation's,cpr Chris

| WoW!!! Nice fish man! That is DEFINATELY the 2nd 53 incher caught from that cove in two days!!! I saw the one caught on Saturday morning. I saw the thread and expected to click on it to see the picture of the fish caught on Saturday. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a different fish on a different day!!!!!!! The Cave is really putting out this year folks!! The PMTT needs to be moved up a few weekends because the fish are going to be starting to spawn right about the time for the tournament. Congrats on a fish that is every musky hunter's dream! |

Location: South Portsmouth, KY | Thanks guys. That was a fish of a lifetime. Worrall I dont think that i got your email. What was the email address that you sent it under. You guys are not going to believe this but i got in contact to the guy that caught the 53 incher saturday. We both think that it might have been the same fish. But you never know. In his pictures his fish had more color. Both of them had torn lips. If this is the same fish, what are the odds of catching a 50 plus incher less than 24 hours apart both with torn lips? Again thanks guys and good fishin!!!

| I heard from the IGFA. The line class record for 12# test in 65#.
The junior record is 40#, but you'd have to have it weighed on a certified scale before releasing it.
The hell with the records. Awesome fish man, and you let her go. We all thank you for that and so does she.
Keep up the good work.
