Well, I'm hitting the Chain tomorrow with my daughter (10) to try and get her her first Musky.
We will probably fish Friday and Saturday, so if you see us out there stop by and say hi.

MAY THE MUSKY GODS BE GOOD TO HER

Ralph, good luck. We will be well east of you, around the regular haunts. Not sure what lake yet but we will probably decide that when we arrive at the boat ramp.

I think we have a change of plans, I've changed my mind about 20 times already (Shelby, Webster, Kinkaid, Cave Run, Fox Chain, Shabbona).........man I think I need a drink!!!!!!
This trip started out to be to Shelbyville but with all the rain I had to change everything up, I don't mind fishing in the rain but I don't want to take her in the rain.

We will be in Indiana Friday and Saturday, I think her chances are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better out there.
Todd, give me a call when you get out there 708-606-8455 I will have a report for you.

Hitting the Hoosier lakes myself this weekend... No idea which lake I'll be fishing either.. as always I am leaning towards the Barbee Chain since its easier what with having my cottage there..lol.. but may hit tippy or webster.. Just look for the Red jeep Cherokee parked at the ramp and the tan Tuffy Rampage out on the water....

The wind was brutal today. I spent about 2.5 hours on the Chain and all I saw was a school of carp. Didn't see any other musky hunters, only bluegill hunters. Water temps were in the mid to high 40's.

This was my first time on the Chain. Certainly not like up north; however it is nice fishing for ski's only 30 minutes from your driveway!

I'll try again in a few weeks when the water temps get in the 60's.

Like Bill(Archery Nut) said, I was out on the B-chain, raised a fish (looked over 30"s)on saturday while fishing with Bukes(Tom), real dark looking so am thinking it may have been a Pike as I have yet to see a Musky there that dark... Went out again sunday, this time by myself, raised another one not to far from the saturday fish, this one was smaller, mid 20"s,also real dark looking, both in the morning and chasing a glider. Seeing as those two were so dark and how shallow they were I am thinking they could be Pike as there is a small population of pike in the chain... Raised a third fish in the afternoon on sunday, never got a good look at it so no idea on the size, also on a glider... Water temp warmed drastically sunday afternoon, I recorded a 59 degree temp in my channell as I was heading back to the boat launch at the end of the day... Todd, were you out there today? I did see one crestliner but couldn't tell you if it was 18' or had a merc... Green and tan I think...

Well, we hit Webster for a couple hours on Friday night, and then again for a couple of hours on Saturday. We didn't have any action so I asked her if she just wanted to head home early, 10 Minutes after the boat was on the trailer and we were heading home the %#&* sun came out.
I almost turned around but decided to keep going, man was I pissed!!!!!!!
Water clarity was only about 2', temps got up to about 44 when we left Saturday afternoon, I'm sure they rose even higher in the day, moved two mid 30" fish on gliders.

Doug,

I left the dam thing at home.

The water clarity on the chain was 1 foot on Marie and 2ft on Channel & catherine. The only people seeing muskies or getting bite offs where the crappie anglers stacked in the bays like sardines. Fished Sat 7-1 didn't move anything except my bowels.

7 out
