| Do you all use transom savers? Are they really needed? Have you used a My-Wedge in place of a transom saver? |

| I always use them too. When you go over a bump sometimes your trailer tires try and jump. That is alot of motor to be bouncing. A friend rigs a tie down for his 15 hp also> works good too. You have too much $$ and too much missed pleasure to mess up your transom for saving the $35 and it takes about a minute to put on. Open drain plg > put on transom saverr> close drain plug. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I always use one too. Mine cradles the tops of the lower unit and then goes to a pin on the trailer and is secured with a clevis. I saw a really simple new one that works on motors that have the two pins exposed with the tilt/trim that is a real strong foam rubber product that just slips on one of the pins and then all you do is lower the motor on it. It beats a block of wood. |

| I put a Swivel-Eze transon saver on mine right after I bought it and mines only a 25HP. The motor always stayed rock solid. Don't forget if you have a smaller motor, you'll have to put in reverse to keep it from bouncing up and lifting the saver off the trailer. I did that once, luckily I noticed it right away. I figured the extra support for the transom was worth the 36 bucks it cost.

| I have a transom saver that I have used for a couple years however the rubber stops are about worn away. Can a guy just get the stops or do you have to buy the whole new transom saver. I think they are a good idea butI called Lund to see what they had to say and the women I talked two said they weren't needed the salesman I bought the boat from said the same thing. Anyway I was wonderin what everybody else thought. |
