Location: Moses Lake, WA | I personally have not had good luck using oil based primers and acrylic water based paints. I've gone over to using epoxy to prime my wood baits. |

Location: Glen Ellyn Il | I have built many balsa baits I purchased a book on building baits and the author had a all subject on sealing wood baits
I use Two Ton 30 minute epoxy than I thin it down to 50 per cent, use mineral spirit to thin it down, it penetrate the balsa wood nicely
I have not tried as of now , cement sealer Drylock should work on balsa
also Zap a Gap its very thin and penetrates really well, I also use it to glue the diving lip
best glue around

Location: PA Angler | Oil base does not work with water base. Paint with same base then just epoxy over like suggested. |
