Howdy,

Is there anything that can be done about all of the pop up ads on MF?

I make it a point to come here every day as part of my morning coffee (along with a couple other fishing sites that used to dominate the information space before Facebook) and this is the only one I can barely interface with due to all of the pop up ads.

It’s becoming a barrier to participation for me (a long time member). I can only imagine what it must be like for someone new to the sport. Please note it’s not a settings issue on my phone as this is the only site that does it.

Take care,

I normally access from my computer and it is not a big issue there, but when using my phone, different story.

I changed computers recently and lost one of my virus protection programs in favor of another in the process. I thought it was just my new machine not doing it's duty but, yeah, there is an influx of ads like i've not seen before. Guess I need to hunt for a blocker that will not violate YouTube's no-block rules. m

I think that half the world works in a call center and even thought I live in a state that has a no call list it does not matter and they don't even wait to business hours to call. Put on a good Hockey or Football game and they call for sure. And folks knock on my door all day long tying to sell me something. I worked long hours for many years let a guy retire in peace and believe me if I need anything I know where to look. Before the pandemic I used to go to Chick Fila (or as my family would say (Chuck Fila) and get breakfast drink coffee and read one of the two copies of the local newspaper they had on site or the USA Today but after the pandemic no more newspapers. I used to love reading the morning paper and drinking coffee or logging on here. Paper cost a arm and leg and gets thinner and thinner so that's a no go and less and less folks post here. I miss the 1990's.

Every time I go to home and to post I get pop up ads every time. It is a pain. I never get one on other forums. Plus the one that always sits at the bottom.

I believe last time someone complained, Steve mentioned it was either ads or no Muskie First.

I also make a point to click on the ads in Muskie first webpage often, specifically the banner add on top of Forums pages. Can only help to keep M1st board around.
