I have some odd-colored dawgs that I want to paint completely black; I don't care about coloring the eyes. I have some baits with white bellies that I painted orange, but the color fades quickly, so I'm not sure if it's even possible to paint, say, a white bait, black. If so, what equipment/paint do I need? Thanks.

I’ve seen some use the paint for mixing in plastic. I’m guessing it’s an oil paint. They airbrush it on. Don’t know how long it will last.

A broad tipped Sharpie worked on generously or some other sort of dye? I would try the Sharpie first.

$3 bottle of black rit dye. Get the water boiling with the dye in it, turn off, toss the dawg in and it soak for 15 min. Im 95% sure this will work with no issues but test it with a junk one. Oh ya, use a pot you don't care about.

Why not black spike it? Apply with a brush

I've seen dyes (in a little bottle) that you can dip twister tails into to change the color.

Sharpie are not as waterproof as you think. I’ve tried with my flies and it doesn’t hold at all. AD marker might work better.

Or sell a couple here in buy/sell/trade and then pick up a new black one?
