| I hope everyone around the oneida/vilas area is having a better season than I am. It started off with a bang but since that heat started at the end of June, it's been terribly slow for me. Here's hoping it picks up soon because I'm just in the wrong locations.
It's getting harder and harder to resist trying to sharpshoot with the livescope out at night |

| Well, our Wednesday night league on the Three Lakes Chain has had a tough year so far. Last week, 4 fish for 25 teams. I had a smallish fish blow up on a Weagle but didn't get hooks in it. However, my partner was up in the Boulder Junction area Friday, and he raised 5 and boated one upper 30. Lost another at the boat when net got tangled in the fire extinguisher ;>).
My first year in the Three Lakes league so I have no reference, but one guy said he and his partner have won it one time and finished second twice. This year they have not boated a qualifying fish or even seen one in 9 weeks. However, on the same water, PMTT had near record numbers. |

| I've never been on the three lakes chain and I've spent very limited time on the eagle chain. I know the pmtt had a great weekend but that was semi early in the season wasn't it? All I know is on 3 outta of 4 of my "sure thing" lakes, the fish have disappeared on me this year. |

Location: E. Tenn | @ North of 8... How are the water temperatures running on the Three Lakes Chain? I'll be up there after Labor Day for a few weeks.. In the past I've noticed action on that Chain really drops off as the water warms to the mid 70s, and I pretty much quit at 77 or 78.
It's been a long hot summer down here too.. |

Wednesday it was 75. Given rain and cool nights, should not be any warmer this week. |

Location: Brighton CO. | We tried to come up North in the late June early July over the years a few years in the 80's we would come the later part of August to be there for my grandmas birthday. Hard fishing, good times. That time of year we have to fish on big clear lakes out over deep water or fish after dark. We fished on dark Flowage type water and got smoked on the Muskies. We would put the boat on a river and catch a bunch of Pike on our ultra lights and small Mepps and that was a blast.
The last time we fished in August in Wisconsin was summer of 1992 when we first moved to Colorado we had to wait for August when I got my six month vacation at work. I booked a guide to go night fishing on Aug. 11 on 9th of July I fractured my elbow and could not fish Muskies. when we got there I didn't fish Muskies intill the night we went out with the guide. My dad lost a average sized fish then got a pretty nice one. The fish got dropped then we let it go without a measurement and called it 42" My dad was peeed he thought it was larger then that, After we got the pictures back it was more 46" 47'" . Grandma was mad at us for letting it go so we had to go catch some fish for a fish fry. We caught some Crappies, Perch and Walleye and a Pike for the fish fry. on minnows and I even caught a small Muskie on a small 2" 1/2 lure and a ultra light. When we had a boat we would catch Muskie sized Pike in the mountains of Colorado in late August early Sept. Late August the Trout here in Colorado look like footballs. |
