| After fishing 5 straight hours in pouring rain for league this week, wondering what people are using for rain gear these days. My search didn't find anything in the last few years, so looking for updates.
It was in the 50s so my rubber rain gear was not too warm and kept me very dry, but if it had been warm might been uncomfortable. My partner had gore tex or gore tex knock off suit and he was wet. According to the gage at my house, rained almost 3 inches in that period and the boat's auto bilge cycled three times to give you an idea of how hard it rained. |

| Unless you're just sitting still, it can be hard to stay completely dry in any gear, when you have that volume of rain, for that long of time. After I damaged a very nice set of rain gear when it was only 3 years old, I have gone to less expensive gear, and been happy with it. May not last as long, but if you damage something after 3 years, what difference does durability make? Current stuff is Frog Toggs, and has held up in pretty decent rain, and is still in good shape after 3 years. |

Location: E. Tenn | When my Gore Tex suit started letting water in on a not too long ago Canada trip, my fishing buddy suggested retreating it with a two step Nikwax treatment.. The rainsuit once again is keeping me dry..

| Thanks. I have an inexpensive Frog Toggs suit in my boat that has served me well. The rubber suit is actually one I bought to work on a building project for my sister in SE Alaska. My brother-in-law in AK is a commercial fisherman of over 50 years and he says you don't see fishermen there wearing Goretex, only heavy-duty rubber. Working for a week in steady rain on a building project in Southeast made me a believer and that is what I took the second year I went up.
The Nikwax is a good idea, and one will pass along to my partner. His suit looked to be good quality, maybe just needs a refresh. Plus, I really hope we never have a league night with that kind of rain again. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I still have bottoms from a Cabela's rain suit when I needed a new top I looked at the Cabela's Guide wear but it was not near as nice as the old Guide wear so I found my late dads Guide wear top and it was the old type but like new. My last trip to Wisconsin in fall of 23 it got a good work out and keep me dry and warm. We used to spray some stuff on them and I think put them in wash to restore the protective coating. I think I was restore made by Dupont. |

Location: Mississippi | I have tried multiple combos over the years. Most of time I’m fishing in Mississippi lakes, which you can fish 365 days of the year on your boat. I’m down to these rain jackets and bibs, AFTCO Barricade, AFTCO Barricade Elite, and Simms ProDry. If I could only have one suit for the entire year and fishing up north, it would be the AFTCO Barricade Elite. Which AFTCO quit making this year, it is a 4 layer suit. |
