What's the best and easiest way to take a picture of a muskie you caught if you're by yourself?

Leave it in the net and wave somebody over. When everybody is set lift it out of the net snap the photo and return to the water. Of course be sure the lure is removed from the fish and net before waving anybody.

Most smartphones can be set up to take voice prompted photos.. On my Samsung. I went to Camera > Settings> Shooting Methods> Voice Commands.. My secret password is "Cheese".

With the fish in the net all unhooked and ready to go, I turn on the phone camera, set it on a seat, pick up the fish, say "Cheese", two seconds later the photo is taken, and the fish is off to tell everyone about their alien abduction experience.

You can also set your phone to video. Flip the camera, so you can see it on the screen. Prop the phone on your seat, take the fish out of the net, and face the phone. You can move forward or backward, left to right, up and down, while watching the phone, to make sure you got the whole fish in the frame. Let the fish go, and stop the video. You can pull stills from the video. It's kind of like getting multiple pictures.

I had a guide a few years ago tell me of the voice prompted way of taking photos. and of course us old guys in the old days if we got a Muskie fishing by ourselves we just wacked it and took it home for pictures (the last time I did this was 1979)
In the late 80's I had a camera that had a remote and one time a cousin and I caught a couple Northerns for dinner in a out of the way place that real pretty looking spot so I put my camera on a stump and got the photo of both of us. I miss that camera it flamed out years ago.

Hiya,

I bought a suction cup ram mount holder for my phone. when I have one in the net, I can set up the phone, set it to a count-down for the shot, then when I am ready, click and pose. I bought a remote bluetooth clicker for my phone just for this purpose...

I have to see whether or not I can do voice activated photos on my phone. I've not heard of that...pretty cool what you can do...

I just take a quick shot holding the camera in one hand and the jaw in the other while she's on the bump board, for those worthy of measurement.. m
