Need something small/portable/with a hoop big enough for a small to mid sized (45/46") muskie...

Don't need a monster, I don't catch monsters!

I've a Stowmaster TS94IM that's 30" x 32" x 36". Multiple 38-40" fish without issue. The next size up unfortunately is a 48" deep bag and for my bushwhacking and river bank adventures that's no good - I'll consider the day I'm trying to net a truly decent fish with this setup a 'good problem'.

I do want to note that the net is advertised as being able to be opened with one hand. Don't do this. The hoop uses a slot that catches a metal push button inside the telescoping pole. If you slam the hoop to deploy the net, you will eventually bend the metal push button to the point the net doesn't 'lock'. Fortunately, this piece has a part number, with which you can call the shop who manufactures it to send you some more

Get urself a Savage Gear Pro folding net in the XL size. Extendable handle, light weight perfect for when fishing solo easier to manage vs a stowmaster. I had to buy a new net last spring to replace mine that fell in night fishing when I accidentally bumped the trolling motor button (112lb on power 10 for a second...) while going to grab release tools with a nice fish bag.. both net and fish high fourties gone.... Had that net for easily 10years used it for 50"+ musky, 20-60lb flatheads, 50+" sturgeon, steelhead in the tributaries and harbor for 25lb+ Salmon. Great for fishing out of kayak as well and when it's time for a new net bag a replacement Beckman/stowmaster fits it. eBay is where I bought mine both times and they're not sold in the States so you'll most likely have to get it shipped from a United Kingdom ebayer. Mine was $116 which included $29 in shipping to my door.
