The Madison Chain of Lakes needs help with stocking.
Due to DNR cutbacks the Chain will only be stocked every other year, this year stocking is all up to the Capital City Chapter of Muskies Inc.
Numbers on the Chain are way down due to almost no stocking in Covid years and is really hurting for fish.
If any of you fish the Chain or would like to help, please do.
Capital City Chapter of Muskies Inc will have a booth at Chicago, Milwaukee , Madison and Wausau shows.. They will have a donation jar in the booth or you can donate on their website Here--https://www.capitalcitymuskiesinc.org/donate/

The club has already ordered the Musky's cost is $53,000 for one year of stocking. The club raised $40,000 in the last year and need $13,000 more.
I would like to thank a few companies that really stepped up and made big donations,

Spanky Baits, PMTT. Team Rhino Outdoors, Dorn's Outdoor Pro Shop, Chaos Tackle,
Musky Fool Fly Fishing Company, Madison Musky Guide Service and thanks to the many individuals that donated already.
Thanks,
Jeff Hanson

This stocking would be appropriate for a Hugh C Becker grant. You already have the matching funds. Apply before the end of January.

Something I have contacted my Assembly Rep. about is the cost of fishing licenses, one of the primary revenue sources for WI DNR. Licenses have not increased in cost since 2005. And for old farts like me, it is $7. My rep is not willing to support higher license costs. Maybe other legislators would.
Frankly, I have always seen license costs as how we directly support our outdoor recreational activities. So many folks think the DNR is sitting on a big pot of money but that is just not the case. As for seniors like me, $7 barely buys a craft beer, yet I can fish all year for that. Go out to eat a nice restaurant and look at all the grey headed folks. Yet we can't afford a regular cost license?
