I want to try trolling some of my swim baits (swimming dawg, posseidon, and royal orba jr), but I'm not sure how to get them to the right depth since they aren't a diving lure. What do you guys use?

I've trolled a posseidon without any weight, got down enough just with 40-50 ft of line out. Going slower than typical cranks, 1.6-2.5 mph.

For any bait, you can get extra depth by adding a weight up front. I use bell sinkers 2, 4, or 8 oz attached to the leader swivel (front of the leader) with a snap. The only other consideration is speed - some casting baits roll at typical trolling speeds.

Use sinker above 5he leader or split ringed to the front of a trolling leader. We've trolled double tens and used 8-16oz weights.
