Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I have both the TX-44’s and the SST Pro Mags. The pro mags pull harder to the side, but always seem to dive on me. Does anyone shift the weights back in the SST’s? Any other tips? I do use 8 or 9 ft rods with the tips high to try to help, but even in 12” chop the SST’s will dive on me.

Location: Walker, MN | I've fished the Offshore Mags stock since their inception, in big waves and have only ever had them dive a couple of times when a big fish was hooked (I'm assuming this could happen with any boards). A few other times on the reel-in. Of course I run my rods in a tree that puts the reels around 5' off of the waters surface. Parabolic glass rods seem to help, bending and taking some of the strain off of the line as a board hits a big wave.
My only other thought is that we do troll mostly down wind when the waves get bigger. Easier to do when open-water trolling, not as easy when trolling structure or breaklines.
