| Just got a 2 pounder. On just about every cast, during the retrieve, the front hook gets stuck in my leader, or I get a bad dawg ball. If I cast it out and reel it straight back, the bait stays tangle-free, so it's not happening during the cast.
I fish pounders and monster dusas all the time, and I don't have this issue with them.
Using smaller hooks didn't help. Anyone have any advice? |

| Maybe it's a length thing I have the same problem when I throw a 14" Jake. |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I spent a decent amount of time throwing a 2 pounder this June in open water and had the same problem. I ended up changing the front hook to a 10/0 mustad 3551 and using one of the magnets from MI to hold it in place. With that said I waaaay prefer the 1.5 pounder to the 2 pounder. Flexible harness, way better hop, better colors, and a lot easier to fish. Don’t have the fowling issue as much with them either. I’d definitely pick up a 1.5lbs if you like big stuff, I’ve caught multiple fish on mine |

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I have 3 ultra dawgs and all of the have a shimmy on the pause similar to old China dawgs I’ve thrown before. Of all the bulldawgs I own the ultra dawgs look the best in the water. All depends where your fishing, time of year, forage base, strain of fish ect. I spend majority of my time on vermilion and when fish are targeting ciscos I do better in ultra dawgs. Part of that I think is I have so much confidence in them because of how good they look in the water. If you like big baits, try one. If you go on musky innovations website they sometimes have extra show color ultra dawgs for cheaper than Thorne, but Thorne has all of your standard white/walleye/ every day colors. My best one this year started as a mother of pearl and I took a black spike it marker to it and turned it into this dark gray/blueish color. I just use a walleye, a lemon tail, and that dark gray one |
