Had some cool evenings last week but supposed to be above normal for the next couple weeks in the Rhinelander area. On the lake where I live, boat traffic has fallen off, like always after Labor Day.

It's been the summer from hell in my part of the country, 89 degree's yesterday and 90's up to a few days ago. Today a nice cool down then back in the 80's for a week. (for the most part still 50's at night.) I did get up to the high country to catch some Trout a couple weeks ago and then took my mom an leaf looking drive and couple days after that. I may sneak up and go fishing today.

I was in Boulder Junction this past weekend. Colors were starting to show. Fished Trout Lake Friday and Saturday. Surface temps were still 71. Not many boaters running around. Just a handful of pontoons and fisherman.

Fall progressing very slowly here in Northern MN. Upper 60 degree water temps and no frost in most places yet. Leaves are dingy and days are warm or hot. Possible frost tonight. Very dry and we've had several wildfires. Fishing is on hold for the most part until we get rain, aside from a handful more guide trips I have booked.

We have not had wildfires yet around me but I was just in the woods and it is super dry. Lakes are dropping, and no rain in the forecast. Colors are not vibrant and fricking pine needles are piling up on drive and lawn. Has been a very warm and dry fall so far.

Very mild weather and temps in SE. WI. Many trees are stressed and losing their leaves because of now drought like conditions. Water temps now bouncing from 63 mornings to 65-68 later in the day.

Missed a big part of season due to rotator surgery, but fishing has been very good the times I got out.

 Guess the fish have not seen my presentations all year;

I get reports from a Canoe outfitter in Ely and there's a fire ban in the Boundary Waters area. I didn't make it up to the hills today but I did go to local park and caught 3 Bass out of a pond. (As a cold front went thru its was quite windy.

The birch and poplar on my property began to drop leaves two weeks ago, again related to dry conditions. Strange year relative to precipitation.
For the sake of folks who depend on winter tourism, sure hope we get snow this winter. The trails in Oneida County never opened last winter. One Thursday they said they would open on Saturday, next day they said no. Those clubs work so hard and all for nothing.

Occasional cooler nights but then a day later its right back up to 80 degrees. Most leaves are still green by me too.

Last weekend I was out fishing and the lake was full of water skiers, tubers, wake boats, and pontoons by 11am like it was the middle of July. I have not seen a water temp below 70 since May.

Whew and I thought we had warm weather. It was cool this morning while taking my pontoon out of the lake for the year but this afternoon I was sweating in a t shirt while raking and hauling pine needles, of which we seem to have bumper crop this year.
