| The left side of my side imaging is reading dark. I replaced the head unit with a different one, and everything worked perfectly. The head unit in question is a helix 10 hw g2n msi. Transducer is XM 9 HW MSI T (SW5). Any ideas? |

Location: Delavan, WI | I think you answered your own question if a different head unit fixed problem, wouldn't that be a bad original head unit |

| I'm guessing I'm wondering if there is a setting that I'm missing. Is it possible for the head to be "bad" and not display the left side? The left works in demo mode. The screen functions in all other pages. Just side imaging is nit working. I recently bought the head unit used and can't seem to figure it out. Was hopeful that I could resolve the issue without having to send it in |

Location: E. Tenn | No expert by any stretch, but I have the same unit, and its connected to an "H1012 HW MSI" transducer..
You may have to spring for a new xducer... but like I said... I'm no expert on this stuff..
What model was the original unit?

| I have a left side, it's just really dark. I can see maybe 25 ft and then black after that. Like I said, I know the transducer isn't blocked and is functioning properly. I think it's maybe just time to buy a new head unit. |

Location: SW Ohio | My Helix 10 did the same thing. Lost the left side. Everything works if I plug the Helix 9 in its place. Plus, if I network the 10 to the 9 with the 9 hooked to the transducer, the 10 works fine. It’s a bad board in the Helix 10. HB will repair it for a fee ($350 last time I checked). I opted to change over to Garmin so I didn’t send it in for repairs. |
