Looks like I'm following up a recent Leech Lake post... Starting to pack for my annual trip pulling my boat out from MT. This year I'm hoping (wind permitting) if we're in the Leech Lake area to try our hands on the big water. Would love to have a recommendation for the best place to launch as I certainly know they can't all be created equal... and usually if I have 5 to choose from I'll find out after the fact that I picked the worst one. Looks like if I picked myself, I'd probably go with the one on Battle Point, google's view makes that one seem like a nice one?
Any suggestions always appreciated!!

Thanks!
Ted

I often use the one at the mouth of Kabekona bay, if I'm not staying on the lake.

Depends on the month and the wind imo. If July/August, you can save a lot of gas launching at Stony Point...just don't do it if the wind is out of the east, or maybe over 15ish mph.

In general, launch on the calm side if over 12 mph, but the windy side can be better if 0-12. Get a good app and just look at the gusts and the higher range of the predicted wind speed. Watch the wind!

It all depends on wind and waves
