When I was a kid back in the 60s, an old timer in Northern WI told me how poachers did a version of that for musky. They would hang a sucker on a big treble and attach to a dead branch. A dead branch doesn't attract attention like a man made bottle or jug.
They would come back on the lake at dusk to see what they had. |

Location: Brighton CO. | There's some lore out there of a famous bunch of Muskies catch in the Hayward Wis. in the 50's were really caught jug fishing not on the lure that was promoted. I've hear that a couple of different places. |
