Location: N Illinois | Looking for a destination to fish the 3rd week of August (aug 14-21). Thinking of trying the Northwest Angle. Any thoughts about the fishing this time of year, places to stay, experiences, etc, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

| Call my friend Frank Walsh at Bay Store Camp on Oak Island. The best musky camp going in the best musky waters of LOTW.

Location: Rhinelander, WI | I'll second Walsh's Baystore Resort. Frank is a great guy and will get you on fish. The time of year you are looking at may mean you have to deal with green water, but don't be afraid of it. We caught some of awesome fish in water so green most guys where driving rigth by looking for clearer water.
Check out Franks Message board and ask away he will hook you up.

Location: St. Louis, MO., Marco Is., FL, Nestor Falls, ON | I agree with Walsh's especially for someone not familiar with muskie fishing in the Northwest Angle. Another really nice resort is Bonnie Brae Resort also on Oak Island. It has exceptionally nice facilities and the most modern Townhouse and apartment type housekeeping units I've seen. You can reach them by doing a Google.com search on Bonnie Brae Resort. Tell Don that Bob Pieske says Hi! Haven't been there for a few years, but have a lot of pleasant memories. |

| You can't beat Monument Bay Lodge if they have openings. It is nothing fancy, but gets you alot farther north for lodging.
Easier access everyday to Big Narrows and the northern waters of the Angle.

| Bob,
Bonnie Brae resort was sold last year. The new owner's are part of a chain of resorts if I remember right. Not sure of the new name.
Bay Store is definitely the place to go.

Location: IL | Frank Walshes Bay Store camp is the spot without question....
He has topless dock girls, an all you can eat chinese buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner), 50 incher garauntee, sweedish massage(with an optional happy ending:-), Ranger 620's for renting (25 bucks a day) and and and... free guided trips by Dick Pearson...
Well... maybe not.... but it is still the best darn place I have stayed on Lake of the Woods... Uncle Frank is the man!!!!

Location: Eau Claire,WI | I have stayed at Angle Outpost Resort and I highly recommend it. The people are friendly, good docks with electricity, and the price wasn't bad either.Plus, you may see Doug Johnson or Dick Pearson,(they guide out of the resort). |

Location: N Illinois | Thanks all. I have info on the way from both Monument Bay and Bay Store. Bay Store has an opening the week I'm looking for. With all the positive responses, it looks like it'll be Baystore. |
