Anyone brave the heat? I was out on the Minocqua/Tomahawk chain Saturday morning and the water temps were upper 60's. We'll be good now through the rest of the year, temps will fall fast next few days.

Well, I re-painted the siding on my boat garage before it got past 85*. After 22 years it needed another coat. m

Fishing had been good up until the heat set in over the weekend. Hoping the cool down kicks them back in gear.

I fished northern Minnesota over the weekend, and with the high temps, we decided to fish almost exclusively after dark. Typically, I am not a night fisherman, but the results of our trip have forced me to reconsider that. Fished 9 pm-3:30 am Saturday night. Lost a 50+ incher within the first hour and a half. Fishing partner lost a mid 40s not long after that. I managed to boat a 46 incher around 2:30 am, and then that was it for the night. Fished Sunday night from 7 pm-12:00 pm. We lost 2 more right before sunset, and then I caught a 43 incher at about 10:30 pm to round out the weekend.

I decided against going north because of the heat. Went salmon fishing instead. Insane lake current like I've never seen headed directly into the wind. Rough seas, people getting sick and tangled lines. Learned a few the ngs and still managed a few fish.
