Location: Western NY | Last year I had 2 10" believers burst at the top seam. They still swim but look terrible and Im wondering if the humpback look will alter the action. I contacted Drifter Tackle and was told there was a warning on the package saying not to leave in the hot sun. What lures cant be in the sun? Its not like I put them in an oven. They said I should return them to where I bought them (who the hell knows where and when and who keeps receipts on lures?) Has anyone else had this happen? They claim when they get hot, the gas inside expands and cracks the seam. Jeez the wooden baits dont have this issue! Well thats $45 out the window.

FYI...I have been using The Justencase box since 2008 and have never had a bait deform...so probably 1500 days of use and 50 or so hard plastic baits in it all the time with no issues. |

^^^Yep. This happens with Plano 3700 style boxes and plastic lures. It is not brand specific either. I, too, have a Just Encase with dark lid that has no problem. I am very careful with my 3700s. |

Location: Western NY | Maybe drilling holes in a deep 3700 will help? I did that for my bucktails. Keeps hooks from rusting and in this case lures from bursting?? |

Location: Brighton CO. | Years ago I had a Lindy Big "M" blister and top crack on the seem of a Top Raider and a old Burmek B-1 with a ripple. So last years after this problem put a flat Plano boxes under my bench seats in a row boat or better yet throw our rain gear over the boxes for shade. (tuck sleeves of rain gear under the boxes so they don't blow away when under power). |
