Quantum Problems?

I was wondering if you guys have had Quantums in the past that are just horrible reels. I just bought one in the beginning of the year and the thing didn't last me a month. Do they ship you a new reel if you send back the old one? How does it work?

Thanks,

I have a quantum 1410, I think that's the model, that the drag slips on the hookset no matter how hard I tighten it. I took the reel to Bass Pro Shops and they replaced it. The new reel sucks just as bad. I lost two skis on it where I got the fish to the boat only to have them open their mouths and find out I never moved the bait. I thought it was going to be a good reel for smaller lures. It has a low profile and I thought it would be very comfortable to use. It now sits at my house and never gets used.

I bought a couple of the Iron reels two years ago.....I used them twice and now they reside on rods that I use for trolling on The Mississippi for walleyes. That's about all they're good for as far as I'm concerned. Very unimpressed with them.

I have two along with one Corsair that I am currently using for paper weights unless someone would be willing to take them off my hands for a small amount of loose change. I guess that you get exactly what you pay for. Nothing but Calcuttas for me from know on.

I have been using two Quantum Iron IR3W reels for several years and can't complain at all. I bought them originally for trolling planer boards, but then I switched to Daiwa linecounters for trolling and turned the Quantums into musky reels. They have a clicker so they work well for sucker rigging too. I've landed a couple nice fish this year and the drags have held up fine. I'll upgrade someday, but they're working pretty good for me right now.

We use the Quantums for trolling/sucker fishing cause the bait-clickers!That`s all I trust them for!(Soon we won`t even use them for that!)They work good,But seem to not be built to take ABUSE! Jeff
